摘要:
Trade relations and investment between the GMS and China are growing rapidly, pushing their interdependence growing. The GMS sees opportunities to access the Chinese market as a lump of1.3 billion people with a rapidly rising average income; increased trade, investment and ODA from China. On the contrary, China wants through GMS cooperation to promote Yunnan and Guangxi provinces of China to expand market, increase investment, increase labor mobility in the sub?region, compete with Japan and US, taking the leading position of economic integration in East Asia.An equally important factor that the GMS countries attract China is rich natural resources to meet the demand for raw materials, fuel for Chines production.China has launched a “one axis, two wings” foreign strategy in which the GMS countries have been selected as an inland wing in this strategy. Moreover, the Chinese government also launched the “ Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) —a framework for the China’s multi-national economic development through two component plans, on the mainland, the Economic “Belt of the Silk Road” and the 21stcentury Maritime Silk Road on the Sea.The initiative focuses on connectivity and cooperation between Eurasian countries, primarily the People’s Republic of China ( PRC) .“ On this basis, China has decided to increase its participation in cooperative activities in the GMS.”
